How to apply for the BISS

How to apply

1. Information

Learn more about the BISS via our website or write us an e-mail with your questions. Information about new lecturers and courses is updated regularly.

2. Application

You have two ways to apply:

3. Confirmation and Payment

Once you have completed the application, we will send you a confirmation mail with further instructions regarding the payment procedure.

Exception: If you apply for Polymer Science & Engineering or Polymer Science & Biofabrication the course coordinator will inform you of whether or not you meet the requirements. You should have completed your bachelor program in this field.

4. Preparations

Please remember to take care of your accommodations, flights, transport, visa and scholarships on your own. Naturally, we are here for your questions and are happy to help you.

A few weeks before the Summer School, you will receive further information about your stay and a few reminders. We will tell you more about the weekend excursion and send you the schedule for your first day in Bayreuth.

Do not hesitate to contact us for further information!

5. Your stay in Bayreuth

We recommend that you arrive in Bayreuth on Saturday or Sunday. If you travel via plane, the nearest airports are:

Nuremberg (85 km)
Leipzig (195 km)
Munich (225 km)
Frankfurt (272 km)

On the first day of the BISS, there will be a greeting and an introduction. You will receive your time schedule for the two weeks and all the most important information.  In the evenings, our team will provide an optional supporting programme. The first and last evenings feature a dinner, which is included in the programme fee. The weekend excursion will be to Berlin – you will hear more about the trip on your first day.

If you have any questions, problems or other issues during the summer programme, you can always contact your coordinator or other students via Whatsapp, Facebook or mobile.
